Family Dynamics and Therapy

At Sarah Ives Family Psychology, we recognise that families can face various stresses and challenges. Our goal is to provide compassionate and effective support to help families navigate these difficulties and strengthen their relationships.

Family Stress, Separation and Adjustment

Navigate transitions and challenges within the family unit with compassionate guidance.

Family life is filled with transitions and stressors, including major life changes such as illness, separations and grief. These events can significantly impact the emotional well-being of all family members.

We offer specialised support to help families adjust to these changes, manage stress and maintain a sense of stability. Our approach focuses on fostering resilience and understanding within the family unit, ensuring that each member feels heard and supported.

Family Therapy

Strengthen family bonds and communication through therapeutic interventions.

Effective communication and attachments and belonging are essential for a healthy family dynamic. Family therapy provides a safe space for family members to express their feelings, resolve conflicts and build stronger connections. Working in this way (“Systems Work”) can greatly enhance the therapy, shifting both parent/s and their offspring (including step and blended families) into a more helpful dynamic. As such, our working ethic is to be inclusive. This means parents are involved with their child or teenager as part of the process of improving situations.

‘A deep sense of belonging is an irreducible need in all people.’
